Abbey grew up in Oakville, Ontario, where she was a competitive dancer with the Canadian
Dance Company from a young age. Her time as a dancer, combined with her own journey through injuries
and recovery, inspired her to pursue a career in physiotherapy. She completed her Honours Bachelor of
Science in Kinesiology at McMaster University, where she balanced academics with her role on the
varsity dance team. As the team’s Conditioning Coordinator for two years, Abbey developed expertise in
exercise design, injury prevention, and performance enhancement.
Before beginning her Master of Physical Therapy at Western University, Abbey gained valuable
experience working in an orthopedic private practice as a Physiotherapy Assistant. This role deepened her
appreciation for the importance of patient education, exercise-based rehab, and building trust in the
therapeutic process. During her graduate training, she completed placements across a wide range of
settings, including sports medicine, inpatient rehab, acute care, and community health, shaping her
holistic and adaptable approach to care.
Abbey is passionate about delivering evidence-informed, patient-centered physiotherapy. She
strives to empower individuals of all ages and abilities to reach their personal goals, whether that’s
returning to sport, staying active, or improving everyday movement. Outside of the clinic, Abbey enjoys
maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle, which often includes weightlifting, running, yoga, Pilates, and
hiking with friends. She also continues to give back to the dance community through teaching and
mentorship, and values movement as a way to foster strength, confidence, and overall well-being.
