Matthew Kowalczyk graduated from the University of Toronto with a high honours Bachelor of Kinesiology degree. He then completed his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University. Prior to his career as a physiotherapist, Matthew worked with the Orthopaedic Research team at Toronto Western Hospital with a special interest in osteoarthritis.
Matthew believes in targeting the root cause of pain and dysfunction to create long-term and effective changes to allow his clients to return to doing what they love and achieving their goals, and not just masking the symptoms with temporary interventions. His style incorporates a blend of hands-on manual therapy, targeted exercise interventions, acupuncture, and education about the nature of the conditions he treats. Matthew has worked with a variety of populations including seniors, adults, and athletes.
Outside of the clinic, Matthew loves to watch hockey and soccer, play floorball and soccer, exercise, and enjoys a good cup of coffee.
